Contrary to large triangular pyramids, the archaeological site of Los Guachimontones is characterized by including several buildings with unique architectural style, including several conical mounds or pyramids tiered “patios” surrounded by circular, a ball court, an amphitheater and some terraces and buildings.
Just one hour from the city of Guadalajara, this area is a representation of the Hispanic cultures of the West, especially the tradition of Tehuchitlán, believed that flourished from 300 BC to 900 A.D.
It is noteworthy that Guachimontones were appointed cultural heritage site by UNESCO in 2006, but was discovered in 1970.
During the tour, we will visit a museum of the area as well as the area itself.
